Death

I stand on a hill and look out over all I have ever made, and next to me stands death, the black specter. After I evaded him for years beyond my remembrance, I turn and greet him now as an old friend. - The Last Words of Hati the Old   Simply named and simply explained, many who think of death in a physical form believe him to be a deity over the passing from life into the next world. As such he has followers, particularly amongst those who wish to learn forbidden magics like necromancy. Others, such as assassins or warriors simply claim death to be an unfeeling god, who is bested by their fighting for life.   Death is often considered to be a skeletal figure in a large black cloak, who rides a pale steed, bearing a golden blade, the size of a man. Death does not speak, it does not bargain, and it does not forget. Some believe that to speak of death as a deity is to mark yourself, and that from that moment on death haunts you. It is perhaps the least prayed to of all the major deities.
