The goddess of war and battles, Estus is known to provide warriors and knights with strength, energy and resolve. She is often prayed to by those heading into difficult fights, or who fear death by the blade. It is often claimed that she appears on the field of battle when the army's need is greatest, although it is rare for any such claim to be backed up by a second account. She is also known to despise assassins or poisoners, thinking it an unfair and unsporting form of combat. She is the essence of honor in combat for many.
As armies or forces clash it is often unclear at the time who she gives favor to, rather it is usually claimed that she clearly favored the victor of the fight, else they would’ve lost. As such many leaders and generals are dedicated to their prayers for her guidance and assistance, especially in times of war.
