The Elder Tree

And though I slept, I did not dream, yet I did see. Within the depths of Watered Woods, untouched by man or elf, there stood a mighty tree with branches that stretched above the clouds. His leaves were blood red and there the face of an elderly man upon his trunk, though it could never have been carved by living beings.     “Be at peace,” he said to me. “For you will rid the world of a great darkness.” - An Account from Marti-Luia of House Brawen   A gargantuan tree, rumored to be within the depths of the Fey Wilds, and able to see the world through any tree that is at least a century old. The Elder Tree itself has a large elderly man’s face carved into it and is a favorite deity of druids and rangers who choose to acknowledge the higher beings.   The Elder Tree is known to provide guidance for people with morally kind goals through their trials and tests, more often if they are more connected to nature. It is often considered the deity of weather and nature, and some see disasters as the wrath of the elder tree, though many consider their influence on the world to be negligible at best.   Those who aim to either be morally better, or who else agree with the teachings of the Elder Tree pray to it, and often feel at peace as they do so.
