The formation and lineage of the Hope Family

Three-claw was the eldest of the three Tabaxi brothers of night: himself, Swift-paw, and Night-eye. In 2600, the trio stumbled upon the Shadowed Forest. Born with a talent for stealth and battle, they were the first to understand and dominate the beasts within it’s boarders instead of just trying to avoid or kill them. The beasts within the forest, wild as they may have been came to hold a respect for the brothers and understand the protection that they offered their people, making the forest area livable once more for the average person, albeit still a rougher lifestyle.   All three assumed different roles and while none actually considered himself above the others, Three-claw took over negotiations and trade with neighboring peoples, and so was considered to be the leader by many outsiders. He never took the title lord for himself, rather the people of the Shadow Forest insisted that he take the position of lordship. Three-claw died in 2633 peacefully.   His son, Ice was a pure white Tabaxi and naturally curious and playful. Ice spent much of his days exploring the shadowed forest and making friends with its many inhabitants, considering them friends and allies to an extent. For most of his reign this was beneficial, allowing things like spider silk and unicorn hairs to be used without killing the animals.   However this alliance ended poorly as Ice was betrayed by several of the spiders and killed by the creatures. His corpse was discovered entombed in a web of spider silk.   His son, Lord Snow, was named for his fur. It was pure white, much like his father’s. Snow took the forest as a threat after his father’s death and while many still transverse it, it is now treated as an entity hostile within its own right, born to untrustworthy beasts who trick and devour travelers. Snow even make a sport of hunting down beasts within its boarders, especially the wicked spiders.
