The formation and lineage of the Gaster Family

Garit Gaster, born in 2505 (2541-2562): was a crafter and inventor who explored magics while deep in the under dark. Though he was middle-aged for a goblin, he earned his claim to fame through his invention of several key pieces of tech that allowed the boats that traveled to the nearby islands of the Sapphire Shores to travel far quicker and more effectively than they had been, eliminating the need for rowers entirely, and creating entire trade ships that could be manned by a crew half the size of what they would’ve previously needed. For this, King Peter agreed to name him lord of the Sapphire Shores and bring the islands into the fold of the kingdom.   However, Lord Garit was a poor leader and relied on a council of advisors to handle his actual lands while he worked tirelessly on his inventions. It is not known who mothered Wix, his child. What is known is that before the Goblin child could stand, Garit infused his child with some dark spirit that morphed and changed the Goblin into a Verdan and they now flit randomly between genders and physical features. Garit died at the age of 57, content in a palace of gold and marble.   Lord Wix took control of the family in 2562. Many thought the new Verdan Lord would’ve been middle-aged and wouldn’t live very long. This was a great distress to the group because despite being a most unusual lord physically, Wix was a kind a generous ruler, who spent many hours with their people to make sure their lives are as good as they was able to make them.   However, the Verdan’s 60th birthday came and went… and then their 70th… and their 100th and their 150th and while they do show signs of aging, they are still apparently full of life. Under their watch, the Sapphire Shores have expanded and become one of the most beautiful places to live, causing several people to grow slightly lax.
