49th Pharaonic Dynasty

The 49th Pharaonic Dynasty is the current ruling dynasty of the Idgypt. While its founding date is unknown, it currently stands as the longest lasting dynasty in Idgyptian history, primarily due to the extremely long lifespan of the current pharaoh, Shadotep I.

Members of the 49th Dynasty

Amenophis I: ??? - 949 CE (reigned ??? - 949 CE)

The earliest known member of the dynasty. Very little is known about him, though it seems that his primary goal was to maintain the status quo without much change.

Amenophis II: 932 - 989 CE (reigned 949 - 989 CE)

Having heard tales of a great kingdom that once ruled all of the Nile, he became disillusioned with the status quo and became determined to re-establish that kingdom under the rule of the pharaoh. Began a massive reorganization of the military and government of Memphis, reintroducing many Ptolemaic elements. Would eventually conquer the neighboring nome of Atef-Pehu near the end of his reign, establishing the Kingdom of Memphis and starting a chain of events that would lead more than a century of conflict and expansion that would culminate in the formation of the Idgyptian Empire.

Amenophis III: 962 - 1025 CE (reigned 989 - 1025 CE)

Continuing the vision of his father, Amenophis III would continue to lay the foundation for the reunification of Idgypt. His reign saw a massive expansion of the Kingdom of Memphis through both conquest and alliance, primarily with an alliance between him and the King of the Faiyum and the union with the Kingdom of Saqqara after marrying its queen, Hypatia. While a very skilled commander and competent ruler in his own right, he has come to be overshadowed by his son and heir.

Shadotep I: 1000 CE - Present (reigned 1025 CE - Present)

The current ruler of the 49th dynasty, and by far the greatest pharaoh of the dynasty, if not the greatest in all of Idgyptian history. Due to his unusually long life so far, he has managed to have one of, if not the longest reign in human history, having ruled for almost 500 years. His most glorious feat, at least in the eyes of his people, is the completion of the grand ambitions of his father and his father's father by not only reunifying the Kingdom of Idgypt under the rule of the pharaoh, but also by forming the larger Idgyptian Empire after inheriting the kingdoms of Nubia and Kyrenaika.
