Not much is known about Amenophis I. He is the earliest recorded pharaoh of the 49th dynasty, and the earliest known ancestor of Shadotep I, and seems to have been a competent, yet inactive Pharaoh.
It should be noted that at this time, the title of Pharaoh was primarily a religious one, while also signifying the nomarch of Memphis.
