Arcane Theories & Proofs Acacius The theory side of Spell Matrices. This class teaches more advanced fundamentals of magic, asking students to explain how magic works on a large/worldwide scale as well as on a small, micro scale. To pass this class, you need to be able to model and predict how magic will flow or behave under various conditions. Numerology Tana Raulnor Magic has a lot of math. Anacra is built on a pattern of Four. Glyphs and runes can change based on how they're aligned with each other. Spell matrices require precise construction. The more complex the magic you're trying to work, the greater the risk that math will be involved. Spell Matrices Iebrus Gulm A prerequisite to casting Second Circle magic, Spell Matrices teaches students how to build more complex energy structures. It involves not only book knowledge and complex theories, but mental focus and discipline. World Studies Bethrynna Cogarraigh This is a comprehensive overview of the world outside the academy. It focuses on the history of the world and brings students up to speed on the various cultures of the Sunswept Lands, both nearby and abroad. Continued Studies

  After completing their seven years of initial studies, students may graduate as Mages. They may choose to enroll in one of the Towers of Wizardry, choosing a focus and pursuing an advanced degree. They may also apply for an apprenticeship, working directly with a Master at the academy. Either of these paths may allow them to receive the title of Magus.   To receive the title of Master, a Magus must create a new spell, magic item, or major contribution in their field of specialty, then submit their findings to the High Circle. The High Circle may accept the applicant as a Master and bestow upon them the recognition their work deserves, as well as access to even more restricted information and resources.   The title of Archmage is reserved for those who have mastered the Third Circle of magic. If you have to ask if you're an archmage, you're not an archmage.
