Magus Acacius
From the coastal lands of the Chaparral peoples, Acacius brought the sea-songs and proverbs of the sailing life with him to Ioth Academy. A relatively young teacher, Acacius is a natural prodigy in the complex discipline of Arcane Theories & Proofs, guiding fifth-year students through the process of not simply casting spells, but understanding why they work.

Personal history
Acacius was born during high tide on a Chaparral fishing boat. They ran aground in a coastal cave while his mother gave birth, so he was born on sea, ship and land. Since the Chaparral people are some of the best sailors in the region, and the waterways are the only safe way to travel during the Demonic Imperium, Acacius grew up navigating the coastal oceans to transport crucial goods from the northern bay to the Priest Kingdoms in the south. In the course of his travels he developed a deep appreciation and respect for Li-Ban and Leveran, learning sea-songs of praise and prayers for smooth sailing, good weather, and the confounding of their foes.
His parents were moderately successful in his dangerous life, but Acacius had a knack for complex calculations and navigation. At an extremely young age he helped locate a sunken ship containing a stash of treasure. That eventually led to him being recruited by Ioth Academy. Upon arrival he was assigned to The Cove and excelled in his studies. With no desire to leave, he continued to advanced studies in the Towers after earning the title of Magus, fell in love with and married a Tiefling warden, and settled down to teach Arcane Theories and Proofs.
