Druidic Principality of Escatonah

For most of its history, western Dvin (Escatonah and the Hierophancy of Tvor) was the easternmost fringe of the enormous and ancient Carentan Forest.

• The Prince of Druids is the hereditary ruler, who comes exclusively from among certain aristocratic druid families.
• Not even the royal family takes the claim to be prince of druids seriously, but it’s an old title and they keep it.
• The northern town of Tor Caishen is supposedly where -- 7,000 years ago -- the half-elven druid Caishen first discovered how to interbreed intelligent animals with humanoids.
• The capital of Escatonah is the city of Athren, one of the major seats of druidic learning in the world. It is also where most of the trade from the Carentan Forest makes its way through Nymera.
• The town of Harper's Crossing to the east is only about 300 years old – relatively new by western Dvinish standards.
