Archon

Qualifications

There are no strictly defined qualifications, as it is possible that the old Archon dies while their successor (their son or daughter for example) is still too young to have earned any qualifications. Generally though Archons have some sort of magical training and have reached at least the rank of Enchanter in the Society of Mages.

Requirements

To become the next Archon one needs to either be the child of the currently ruling Archon and appointed as their successor, or be the Archon's chosen protégé even if there is no blood relation. The Archon also has to be a mage - in theory it doesn't matter of which social standing, but practically all Archons thus far have been from an Altus family, with only a handful of exceptions that weren't met with enthusiasm by the Magisters.
