The Southhold
The solitary tower, the eye of the steppe, the gateway to Acarius - the Southhold has many names, each a descriptor for the single stone tower built on the edge of the Windswept Plain , staring unblocked over The Steppes . The tower was designed as a marker to be staffed by a handful of armed men and women, who would be charged with directing newcomers to Acaron from the south. As time progressed, and the Kingdoms efforts shifted from creating a defensible location to house it's citizens to expanding and securing it's borders, the tower had an addition in the way of a barracks/bunkhouse. Though the tower has never seen open conflict, and has rarely been the sight of any conflicts beyond the occasional overconfident pack of coyotes, it is still continually staffed on the off-chance that something happening.
