Kingdom of Acarius

The Kingdom of Acarius, founded in 7a 512, has ruled the north-central continent of Laggios for over a millennia. Her current ruler, the young King Brennan, has ruled since 7a 1522 after his father's failing health left him orphaned at the age of eight. Acarius is notable for few things - her diplomatic relations with the clans of the Tajir Mutaji in the south allow for many luxuries, and her coastal position affords easy travel to the north and the south - though barbarian raids from the frozen wastes to the north are not entirely uncommon. Acarius' capital city of Acaron is nothing more than a political stronghold, and is capital by name alone. Her primary city, Halgen, draws people from all corners of the earth in to see it's legendary God Vault - a massive multi-floored dungeon that none have found the end of that is rumored to be the site of sanctuary for the coming Passing.

Structure

The Kingdom of Acarius is best described as a sort of Democratic Monarchy, with the Monarch having final say over issues presented via a council of leaders elected by their individual town or regions people.

Culture

Acarian culture is that of stark defense and sporadic exploration. The Kingdom focuses efforts on securing its borders from threats, elevating the lifestyles of it's citizens, and then finally tasking several expeditions to exploring the world around them.

Public Agenda

The officially recognized public agenda of the Acarian government is almost non-existent. Citizens live their lives with the understanding that this era is going to end, most likely in an apocalyptic fashion similar to it's predecessors, and as such simply work toward ensuring that whenever The Passing arrives - as many people as possible survive. As a result, the political climate is relatively relaxed, with politicians held in the same regard as farmhands; they are just people working toward everyone's goals.

Assets

The Kingdom was initially founded to create an entirely self-sufficient society, and as such their assets consist of every base material one might consider necessary for everyday life. They have vast farmlands, mines in the mountains to collect ores and stone, logging camps to the north where the woods transition from strong pines to snow-capped branches, and a not inconsiderable amount of fisheries on the eastern coast.

Government Sanctioned

The Cartographer's Guild is almost entirely funded by the Kingdom itself, and as such they have a wonderful working relationship.

Semi-Autonomous City State

Since Orivos was gifted to the dwarves by the first great king, The Deep Lords have held the Kingdom in high regard when discussing expansion and politics.

Non-Aggression Pact

Non-Aggression Pact

Though uncomfortable with the idea of a religious sect operating freely within it's borders, the Kingdom of Acarius has had no confrontations with Kisteros' Legion to speak of since it's (and Bayspring's) founding.

Allies of Opportunity

Though not officially sanctioned, the Order will often trade valuable information and prisoners with the Kingdom

Partnership

Despite the obvious necessity that is the Adventurer's Front, the Kingdom of Acarius (and military bodies within) believe both the Front and the Guild to be entirely beneath them.

Non-Aggression Pact

Though those employed by the Adventurer's Guild are obviously grateful for the work granted by the Kingdom, the constant berating received by the military structures of the Kingdom of Acarius has left a sour taste in the mouths of guild members.
