Port Luce
Port Luce is a small fishing village at the South Western border of Korinthia. Located at the estuary of Ystrae River, the Oameni are frequent visitors and provide shipping upriver to Goodmete and the Brennesh Foothills. It's largest industry is salt-water fishing, and boats from the village dot the local Anvimarian Ocean waves from early morning to late in the day.
The village has been around since the days of the Ursian Empire, possibly predating it. Local legend states that Luce was a young woman who had caught the eye of Badduuk, returning from a long battle. Lusty and desiring the woman he chased her. Terrified she called out to protect her. Thestia turned Luce into a fish that she might swim away and hide among the many salmon of the sea. Thus Badduuk is the local patron of fishermen.
When the Ursian Empire fell the great whirlpool known as the Eye of Haepheron appeared. A great churning of the seas preceeded this and giant waves crashed into the town of Port Luce, wiping away most of the buildings. In the following days, some made the journey Eastward to nearby villages and higher ground. Others tried to repair what they could. The Oameni arrived to lend aid, and this has helped their reputation in the village. After a few days elves from the southern fishing village of Aisallian arrived and helped with the rebuilding. To this day elven art can be spotted in the workings of the buildings, and occasionally elven features in the villagers. There is a sense of kinship between the two villages and they have since helped eachother in times of difficulty.
Defences
Port Luce has few defences and depends mostly on regular patrols from Ujen and, to a lesser extent, Goodmete, to keep the gnoll population of Southern Korinthia under control. Most of the adult men have enough skill with an ax or sword that they can form a basic militia if needed to defend the town and they man a single watchtower which gives a clear view of the land, just in case any creatures get desperate.
