Merai Uhl'Ithenan (mer-EYE ul-EETH-en-an)

Merai Uhl'Ithenan is a highborn Olathian courtier married to Ariathain Er'Olathe, the Duke of Olathe and the younger brother of Fiaéain IV, Queen of Olathe. Merai is the sole inheritor of the fortunes and prestige of the House Uhl'Ithenan; her mother's early death meant that Merai became the Margravine of Ithenan as a teenager.
Merai, unlike many among the upper echelons of the Olathian aristocracy, married for love. Of course, it's unlikely that the union of Merai and Ariathain would have ever been controversial, for Merai's status within the House Uhl'Ithenan is certainly enough to render her suitable for marriage into a branch of the ruling family. Upon her marriage to the Duke of Olathe, Merai became the Duchess of Olathe, and in that role, she has used her political savvy to great effect. Ariathain is notably disinclined to participation in court politics, and in his absence, Merai has risen to the forefront as a power player in the court and in high society at large. She has a wide sphere of influence in the Olathian aristocracy, and she has many valuable connections.
Ariathain and Merai have three children together. Their eldest daughter, Arhenna Uhl'Ithenan, inherited the courtesy title of Earl of Ithenan from her mother. Arhenna is a powerful figure in her own right: she is the Archknight of the Lordsworn's Order and a military hero known for pushing Solisvaran forces out of the nation shortly post-Severing. Their second child Arago is a scholarly young socialite, and their youngest daughter Arináea is a prodigious sorceress.
