Ancient Halfling
In the past, there were two types of Halflings. The settled and the travelers. Some think that the settled were the originals, but no one knows for sure. These early halflings mostly lived in interconnected underground complexes. Their food was grown aboveground but they spent most of their lives otherwise below the surface. They are highly skilled burrowers and have created great earthworks, although not as good working with stone as the Earth Dwarfs.
Each family followed a different profession, including woodcutters, farmers, husbandmen, water gatherers, fishers, etc. Some of them spent part of every day or every couple of days aboveground.

Art & Architecture
There is little difference between their art and architecture for the halflings, they believe that anything worth building should be made well and beautifully. Rarely do they use straight lines and corners, as they prefer arches, circles, ovals, and rarely hexagons or polygons. Comfort and stability are important to them, but also beauty.
Foods & Cuisine
Halflings are constantly eating, many snacks and meals but in small portions. They like breads, pies, soups and stews, fruits and vegetables, various types of meat, various deserts, and many types of preserved foods like cheeses, yogurts, pickled vegetables, potted meats, etc, and of course tea, ales, beer, and wine.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
According to an oral tradition they used to live on the surface, but some ancient evil drove them underground to hide away from it. They were warned by a messenger of the Arvo, God of the Defense.
