Church of Danu

Written by Pookas Kreations

The Church of Danu, Goddess of the Sea  is a group of people that sought out Airis in her worship of Danu.

Many had been searching for a goddess to follow that had similar beliefs as they do. They want to worship in a loving, peaceful, nurturing  environment, but that also encompassed the wildness of nature.  Danu and her new pantheon encompasses the options that her followers were searching for and this encouraged others to join this new congregation.

They is a very loosely structured but close-knit group, more like a family then a church. It is not strict like monasteries and encourages its members to have families. Members often travel between locations and are greeted as family wherever they go. If the church in one location becomes too large to fit the congregation, they often split and for a sister site.

The church is often run by females, but that is tradition not the rule. Although, the First Sister has always been female, males that are willing to accept Danu’s requirements would possibly be accepted.

Structure

The church is loosely organized into different circles, each is a different level of experience and/or interest.

Worship

How a member worships Danu, Goddess of the Sea or anyone in her pantheon is between them. There are no rules that dictate ways to worship. There are many celebrations, but participation at this time is up to them as well. This church is of fellowship not strict adherence.

Sects

There are many nests within the Church of Danu . Each nest is like a small family group that fits under the umbrella of the church. Sometimes they pick one goddess under the pantheon to follow, or all of them, this is the choice of the Nest and its followers.

In Danu’s name.
