The Enchanted Forest

The Enchanted Forest describes the large range of forests to the south of The Union of Esperanza, which is primarily occupied by the Wood Elf. Unlike their High Elf cousins the Wood Elves are more attuned to Nature than magic, having a deep almost psychic like connection with the ancient forest that they call home. From the outside the Enchanted Forest is a mysterious none dare to venture to, it's borders are covered by fog and any who dare to approach will be skewered by arrows before they breach the fog boundary. The only known outsiders who are allowed entry into the forest are highly regarded members of Druidic circles and even them do not return after entering. 
It is due to this mystery that very view know the innerworkings of the Wood Elf Empire that exists inside the forest, even Wood Elves themselves whom leave the forest. It is rare for such things to occur as the forest does not even trade with outsiders, however it does happen upon occasion. But for those Wood Elves who leave in some form a mysterious amnesia they forget much of their life back in the Forest and are not welcomed back if they left against the Will of the powers within it. It is for these reason that their neighbors up north The Union of Esperanza choose to just leave the forest alone and leave them to their business.
