The Hospitallers of Our Lady Dianekt
The Hospitallers of Our Lady Dianekt are a prominent order of Healers. They are most influential in Ebrion, but send missionaries across Ara, to heal and train other healers.
They are devoted to care and healing, and beyond that driving peace and armistice in wartime situations. As such, clerics and paladins in the order are trained in both martial as well as medical arts.
All are welcome to join. Depending on their personal interests and abilities, they may follow a medical or mundane path of healing.
Members of the Hospitallers are recognisable from their green and white attire and headscarves. Senior initiates carry a carved oaken staff. Cleanliness and hygiene is a key tenet of their order and they will always carrier a posy of sweet smelling herbs. Some carry masks for treating infectious disease. Their martial uniforms reflect this attire over armour, with any personal arms replace by those of the order.
Structure
There are 4 major branches within the Hospitallers: The Nursing Branch (the main care and administrative order the Practickers (doctoring Apotheckers (potioning and medicine) and Chirugeons (surgery). Members may commonly move between branches, and a full initiate from any one branch will likely have basic knowledge of all of them.
Ranks are as the below, starting as a Postulant of no particular branch, and moving upward and along as ability takes. Up to the rank of Superior, Arcane or Mundane may be added to a title for clarification (e.g. Sister Arcane Lewis or Junior Chirugeon Mundane Johnson). If of a martial discipline, Knight will be added to all orders above novice (e.g. Knight Warden, Knight Practiker, Knight Sister Arcane)
