Wizard of Levetta

Over a century ago, a powerful mage used a Tower in Levetta as his home while he researched dragons. His ultimate goal was to bend these mighty creatures to his will and either free the common races from the ever-looming threat of dragon attacks or use them to become incredibly rich and powerful. Several of the magic items he had in his possession are tailored to protect him from draconic creatures and certain breath weapons, particularly cold. Around this time, it is also thought that a large, possibly ancient white dragon called this mountain range its home.

Over many years he worked on his design for a new 9th level spell: dominate dragon. This spell would ignore legendary resistances and could be made permanent if cast on the same creature once a day over the course of one year.

Alas, before he could get a chance to test his creation, a dragonborn champion of Tiamat was able to infiltrate his tower’s defences and slay him using an infernal hammer created in frozen Stygia within the Nine Hells. Though she searched, the dragonborn did not find the wizard’s spellbook, but came very close when she attempted to remove the red dragon head mounted on the wizard’s wall. The champion was herself killed by a ceiling collapse in one of the lower caverns beneath the tower, possibly as the result of triggering a spell glyph or other booby trap. He left many powerful artefacts behind, which were largely raided by the Thanes of Order and Clavis Interitus.
