The High Fey Courts

The 'High Fey Courts' is the name commonly given to the four groups of fey, each led by an Eldest. Though they are not as powerful as true deities, the High Courts are also considered to be the pantheon of the denizens of the Feywild, as they have enough power to shape the entirety of the plane to their will. Through the myriad of treaties and concords between them, the Courts watch over the Feywild jointly, playing an intricate game of power and control. Their sworn oaths put obligations on them to both serve and protect the Feywild, though their methods of doing so are mysterious and questionable at times.

Structure

There are four High Fey Courts, as the name suggests. They are believed to hold equivalent power among themselves and are constantly involved in subtle games of subterfuge, though the intricate web of contracts and oaths between them keep them in check. Not all fey belong to a Court, with some instead choosing to follow a lone Eldest.
  • The Winter Court, ruled by the Tired Prince.
  • The Summer Court, ruled by Immerion, the Twins.
  • The Spring Court, ruled by Queen Titania.
  • The Autumn Court, ruled by the Weeping Willow.
Each Court is comprised of Lesser Courts from lesser Fey Nobles. Each Court rules over its own area, in which the powers of the Courts inhabitants are strongest. Though the land of the Feywild is forever shifting and changing, the boundaries between the four Courts are rigid and inflexible. All fey are immortal, meaning if they die they eventually come back to life with a lesser degree of power, though if a fey dies outside of their Court's territory, including in the Mortal Plane, they are returned to their homeland.
