Neshen

Overview

Neshen is an angel empyreal lord worshipped by former evildoers who seek to turn their lives toward good. He demands years of hard obedience and physical duress from them, but those who turn to him eventually find their redemption. A devout servant of Molotl, he is the angel of Penitence, Repentance, and Suffering.   Shrines to Neshen are often austere, built in harsh environments like mountaintops or deserts. They're places of pilgrimage for those seeking redemption, who come to meditate, atone, and endure the physical challenges these locales present. Rituals often involve confessions, fasting, and physically demanding tasks. Worshippers share stories of their past wrongdoings, seek guidance from the clergy, and participate in ceremonies designed to cleanse the soul. Priests and priestesses of Neshen, known as Redemption Bearers, are often those who have walked the arduous path of repentance themselves. They act as spiritual guides, offering counsel, assigning penances, and ensuring the tenets of Neshen are upheld.
