Orúla (Oh-rew-la)

Overview

  The grand priest of the Orisa, second only under Olorun and custodian of the priests and oracles, he source of knowledge who is believed to oversee the knowledge of the human form, purity, the cures of illnesses and deformities. Babalawos are Orúla's subordinates as priests and followers. He is praised often with the name named "Igbákejì Olódùmarè" (second in command to Olodumare) and "Ẹlẹ́rìí ìpín" (witness of fate).
