Razmiran

Overview

The nation of Razmiran was once a small fertile region, covered in farming villages. Then Razmir came with the few loyal servants he had at the time and declared himself god, conquering small towns and villages and slowly carving his home in the far eastern River Kingdoms. The inward perfection of Razmiran was interrupted by the Dragon War, and Razmiran suffered greatly and was conquered by the Imperium of Dragonkind. The survivors gathered in the capital of Razmiria and were enclosed by Razmir, who sacrificed himself to create a barrier similar to The Cradle around them. Since that day in 1202 AC, the city of Razmiria has been covered and the lands of the nation lay burned and pillaged.

Government

Razmiran is a realm devoted to its tyrannical ruler, Razmir, who claims he is the new living god of humanity. He claims to have mantled Mehena and gained her divine power. Unknown to his cult, this is a lie, but Razmir's divine power is very real, and his nation and cult grew as his power was shown, as he wielded magic and power on the same level as an Archdevil or Demon Lord. He rules his nation with a godly iron fist with the help of his chief lieutenants, called the Visions of Razmir.   The gold mask wearing priests who have achieved the rank of Vision of the Fifteenth Step perform the day-to-day of the nation. The priests come from all walks of life, blessed with long life and power by Razmir himself. Their true names aren't known, but it is known that they are fiercely lower, and most citizens obey them without question. Many of them are vicious sadists who lust for power as bad as Razmir does, and are served by dozens of silver mask wearing Masks of the Twelfth Step, the second highest rank in the priesthood.   Despite rarely appearing in person and having very little active roles ruling the country, Razmir's erractic proclamations are always enforced. Razmir issues these commands from his thirty-one stepped throne, with each step representing the many trials Razmir claimed to have gone through to gain Mehena's spark. Atop his throne he oversees the nation, growing more power-hungry each year.

Razmiran and Outsiders

Razmiran has poor relations with all the nations around it. To the northeast is the Five Kings Mountains, who have relations only for commercial trade, as Razmir only allowing humans into his cult means that Razmir sees the dwarves as no threat or issue. In the east, Galt has been Razmir's biggest issue, as the anti authority attitudes of Galtish culture and their generally questioning behavior have made his faith slow spreading. The total destruction of Galt during the Dragon War has destroyed his major rival.

The People of Razmiran

The peasant inhabitants of Razmiran live much the average poor in any other feudal system. The only difference being any who speak ill of Razmir are not arrested or executed as treasonous traitors, but instead burned or crucificed as heathens. Religion is a major part of every Razmirian's life, as it is the main job of the state and its main tool of control. The worship of any god but Razmir is banned, and few even mention other gods other than in negative ways in case they are accused of believing in them. The inequality between the poor and the priest classes are extreme, much like the average difference between a wealthy noble and poor peasant in other feudal states. Nonetheless, many people are loyal to Razmir, as his power defends them from the outside world and major threats. What little opposition against Razmir was destroyed during the Dragon War and his Cradling.

Tears of Razmir

A highly addictive drug, Tears of Razmir are a combination of narcotics and hallucinogens that are often imbibed during religious ceremonies. They are created by Razmir for his cult to sell, and users of the drug report a feeling of euphoria, energy and pain resistance, and even some minor divine powers similar to cleric cantrips. Razmirian clergy will give away this drug to people who are not addicted for free, hoping to hook them as most drug dealers do. Tears of Razmir sales makes a large portion of the GDP of Razmiran, with costs going up to 10 GP a dose for the purest tears.
