Odrios

History & Introduction

Orios has been a rare and ancient magical item store for many years, it started as a simple item trade for adventurers looking to traverse the desert and tackle the many tombs and ancient temples that lie beneath it. Some of the adventurers would return with rare finds and sell them and thus Odrios was born. It is rumored to be named after the first adventurer who gifted the then-owner a rare golden egg, which was the foundation for the success the store had enjoyed. Unfortunately in more recent times the store has fallen on hard times and while still offering rare and ancient magic items, most only hold novelty use at best and the owner struggles to keep everything together.

Physical Description

External

The two-story domed building is built of hard compacted clay and encrusted in faded and chipped mosaics. It is hard to make out the exact mural at play as many of the pieces have either fallen off or faded completely over time. Large cracks coat the exterior and a small sign reads Odrios in faded and outdated lettering.

Internal

Mirroring the exterior, blades of light burst through from the cracks, and inside the walls are lined with old wooden cases, dusty bookshelves, and faded and torn silken sails that curl across the ceiling, giving way to a vaulted chamber again filled with books however these appear to be of a private collection and atop that a stained glassed roof that if not for the cracked walls would illuminate the interior with a kaleidoscope of colours.

Auditory cues

a soft rippling and whipping of the silks and occasional groan and creak of timber as it bends under the weight of time.

Scents

Dust, old books and long faded incense.
