Situated in the
Canopy Goldfoot Manor is the ancestral home of the
Goldfoot family. They have lived in this location for centuries though the building itself has been renovated over the years to either expand and accomodate a growing family or to keep up the appearance of being the richest in Arbor. Either way the building itself stands empty at current owing to the fued between the two current heirs to the family name
"You know the building is empty and the Goldfoots haven't been back in years I bet someone could sneak in prentending to be one of them and no one would be the wiser..." - unkown Iron Hands apprentice
Appearance
Goldfoot Manor is a large Victorian style manor, a huge well maintained garden out front complete with gorgeous green marble foutain, carved out of a particularly rare stone that was unearthed by the
The Davey Lamps specifically for this purpose. Beyond the gardens and fountain is the manor itself. A huge structure partially made out of Iron, huge riveted panels partially wrap intricitly carved stone panels. Along with this are riveluts of gold and silver inlays across the entire surface. And to finally add to the over the top displays of weath is a small molten gold moat that can been seen through a glass floor just as you step over the threshold and advance to the porticou of the building itself.
Purpose
The ancestral home of the Goldfoot family, it's purpose before being abandonded by the two heirs was to serve as the seat of power for the Goldfoot family. To this end it has many methods of communication firectly to the mines which run below the building including a built in mine shaft elevator that runs all the way to
the Dark Below.
History
The building itself has been remade over the centuries that it has existed but the land it sits on has always been in the Goldfoot family. The current building though was comminisioned by
Kellen Goldfoot after he increased his already sizeable wealth as a result of the creation of the
Artifex Some 200 hundred years ago.
Rumors
As with most old buildings rumors of secret passegways and hidden compartments abound. This is not helped by the fact that the building has been remade so many times and built on the skeletons of what came before that there is very likely many hidden crawlspaces inside and through it's walls. Of course this is not the only rumor it's also heard that while Willa and Wenret avoid the house or at least refuse to stay in it many people still say they see the twins on occassion in the nearby grounds. What this can mean is anyones guess though
