Publicly the school exists to educate the elite children of Arbor, rigorous lessons, strict discipline, and harsh tests make Silver Leaf the hardest school in all of Arbor though it's the only one with the prestige to attract the kind of students and faculty it does. They teach everything here from business to science if you can afford the tuition it is truly a remarkable place. They are seeking to mold the next generation of leaders in Arbor and so far they have an impressive track record for members of The Silver Council though as of late that number has been dwindling and certain old alumni are becoming upset at not being guaranteed their place in the spotlight.

However, behind its glittering reputation lies a dark secret. It has been rumored that the school conducts forbidden experiments on its students, harnessing the power of magic to enhance their abilities and shape them into the perfect leaders. Many whisper that the students who have undergone these experiments have emerged with abilities beyond human comprehension, but at a terrible cost to their mental and physical well-being. The school's administrators are said to have ties to Collegiate Arcanum that will stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden, and many fear that the students of Silver Leaf are not the only ones in danger.

Thus for those in the lower class the school is simply another thing the rich enjoy and use to further cement their power.

For those in the middle classes it comes as no great surprise that they see the Academy as a way of improving their social mobility by using the schools reputation to boost their own when children of theirs attend. Many though have put themselves in terrible financial trouble getting children to attend so for the middle class the school as seen as a vehicle for social mobility but also perhaps a poison chalice.

Anyone who is anyone sends their children to Silver leaf thus for the Upper Class it's not a question of if their children will go but how soon can they get them in. They have the money to afford the tuition and on top of that many are charitable donors ensuring their children top spots in whatever courses they need in order to succeed in the family business.

History:

Silver Leaf started many many years ago as an institution of learning for the children of the church. Indeed in it's early years the primary thing taught was religious scripture, reading and history. Eventually though through pressure and donations from the cities wealthy they began to offer more and more courses all the way through to adult hood going from glorified baby sitter to full on institution of higher learning.

Attire / Common Garb / Quirks:

For most of the teachers at the Academy they wear black robes with silver trim, and most of them are quite old as new teachers are hard to find and hard to train.

Structure and Hierarchy:

For the academy each departent has a head and above the is the head teacher and then the Headmaster there is a very simple hierarchy to the structure which makes understanding who is in charge of what really rather easy.
