Kal Kadre

A far more "traditional" dwarven city than Vathkal, Kal Kadre refuses to trade openly with human lands. They "conveniently" get their surface goods through their sister city and the one "human" city they tolerate, Alluvia. Kal Kadre boasts some of the deepest mines still in operation, cutting well into the Underdark (the dwarves of Kal Kadre have in fact turned back numerous would-be invaders from the depths). It is rumored that some of their tunnels even act as portals into the elemental Plane of Earth.

Unfortunately, Kal Kadre suffered a terrible calamity while the rest of Requiem was involved with The Long Shadow Conflicts. A surge of displaced denizens of the Underdark were forced upwards into Kal Kadre's domain. The resulting military conflict when awry and, while the dwarven army was ultimately successful in repelling the invaders, they were forced to collapse vast swathes of the city in order to do it.
