The Orb of Knowledge has turned out to be a disaster. Whatever insight it bestows upon those who touch it, is too overwhelming for them. Upon touching it, Wivrthlithk began a nihilistic monologue, raving about the uselessness of struggling against our fate. He took his own life shortly afterward. It looks like we’ve hit a dead end here. Nobody else is brave (or foolish enough) to touch it.

If a person who has been told everything by the Orb firmly believes there is no hope left, then the rest of us are left with the frightening possibility that we cannot survive.

They’re calling it the Orb of Madness now, and moving it to the Great Northern Tower for safekeeping. Good riddance.
