Bazen Castle

Bazen Castle is located in the eastern Bazen Kingdom, atop a hill and surrounded by mountains on all but its south side. It is home to members of the Bazen monarchy. The Kingdom consists of the entire Bazen Lowlands save for the western Laenric Forest.

Bazen Castle is actually an ancient castle that was restored and repurposed. It sits atop Ocular Hill, named because it looks like the pupil of the surrounding valley. A zigzag staircase leads the way up the hill to the guarded front entrance. Citizens of the kingdom are generally permitted to enter, and the main courtyard has most of the features of a village. Oakthrone Keep is located in the back of the courtyard, and a reception office accepts messages, pleas, and complaints from citizens. The dungeons beneath the Keep contain some of the most dangerous criminals ever captured in the lowlands.

Government

The Bazen Kingdom is a monarchy. The castle is its capital, where the monarchs have lived for generations.
