Grelavere Journal

Text

I am pleased that the others accepted my glyph idea. Our collection of artwork would be worth a lot of gold to the societies growing in and around the Smokewhistle Mountains. If we do not protect it, we are vulnerable to robbery. We will create a glyph in each person’s personal quarters, and all four must be active to reach the center chamber. We will store our most glorious works there, so that we may enjoy them while we relax or dine.   This place is our haven away from the complexities of the rest of the world, where we can design without distraction. It is tragic that Grelavere must remain hidden or else become a target for others to exploit or seize. I am proud of my creations; each one is an expression of my imagination and my soul. I lament that I cannot share them with the world beyond our door.   Each time Prutch trades our smaller projects to Tarvinkor for food and materials, we risk attention. I believe more defenses may be necessary to repel unwanted guests. We are pacifists by oath, but I wonder if the others would consider implementation of traps to breach that oath. Spry would almost certainly reject the idea and build puzzles instead, but Lurven and Prutch might be open to a more forceful deterrent.   - Remaera
