Starn Klagen

Starn Klagen was a human noble, the last of his family. The Klagen family have been present in Salmund for about four generations, and helped build the town.
Starn was a reclusive man; what little time he spent outside of his home, he spent on solo nature walks in the nearby Kazzin Forest. The only people who saw him were his five gnome servants, the sheriff, and his rare visitors. Those who knew him say that he was polite and kind, although very quiet. He was secretly a smuggler who worked with the Murids to store and transport goods; his occasional visitors were contacts related to this work.
Klagen Manor was burned down in what turned out to be arson. The Order of the Emerald Feather hired a group of mercenaries to destroy Starn and his home as a way to hurt the Murids. Starn and two of his servants were killed in the fire, and the manor burned and collapsed completely.
