Sun Forge

The Sun Forge is a large steel building that the ancient stoutfolk used to construct the Sun, which they called the Orb of Radiance. The cube-shaped building sits atop Sunspire, the tallest of the Suntouch Spires which pokes above the clouds.
The forge utilized geothermal heat to energize the sun, but in that process, the stoutfolk accidentally unleashed an enormous volcanic eruption that formed the spires. The forge was blasted upward and remained atop the stream of magma, resulting in its foundation sinking partway into the stone of the summit. The inside of the forge has three floors, each looking into a large central chamber with mechanical arms ending in concave rectangular panels. When extended from the control room, these panels form a sphere together, which once held yellow primal crystals as they were forged into the body of the sun. The outside of these panels are covered in divets meant to hold blue primal crystals, which helped counterbalance the heat during construction. Archestrylene was used as a sealant between the crystals; a now-empty tank of it was positioned on the second floor. A vault held the excess blue crystals.
During 2024-04-13 Atop the Sunspires, a group of adventurers flew to the top of the Sunspire and entered the forge. They discovered a giant beholder that had stolen the memories of anyone who had already been there, and destroyed the creature before it could erase too many of their own experiences.
