Suntouch Spires

The Suntouch Spires are a cluster of three extremely steep mountains protruding from the heart of Solaki. The shadow they cast reaches all the way into the South Ocean, and moves from west to east like an enormous sundial. From shortest to tallest, they are called Mistpeak, Wingrock, and Sunspire. Sunspire reaches well above the clouds; it is often disputed whether it is taller than Mount Stonekettle in the Smokewhistle Mountains.   Oceanic moisture gathers around the base of the spires, shrouding the forest in silent, cool mist and concealing scattered ancient ruins within. The steepness and wetness of the spires' surfaces make them difficult and dangerous to scale. Nobody has yet made their way to the top of Sunspire, though rumors abound of what sits atop it. Some stories say that a special tree grows upon the summit, in that unique place with maximal sunlight and devoid of disturbance. Some believe it is the home of a reclusive god, a divine being more powerful than all the combined spirits in Solaki. Other tales describe an ancient library that sits atop it, where people long ago would read and write endlessly in the cloudless light of the sun and moon.   During 2024-04-13 Among the Spires, a group of adventurers explored the base of the spires and discovered that a large mass of yuan-ti were camping there, plotting against Solaki's people. The adventurers drove out the yuan-ti and destroyed their encampment.   During 2024-04-13 Atop the Spires, a group of adventurers flew to the top of the Sunspire and discovered the ancient Sun Forge atop its summit. Exploring inside, they discovered a giant beholder that had stolen the memories of anyone who had already been there, and destroyed the creature before it could erase too many of their own experiences.
