Captain maimed by trap today. 9 years at sea, never seen him this angry. I understand- not his first betrayal. Traitors are doomed. Captain will find them if he really wants to (he does).

Have some material from last month’s plunder, might be useful. Red crystal can be chipped down, should work as replacement. Captain will look even more intimidating, if that’s possible.

Extra material, made two marbles. Left extra in workshop as contingency. Hope Captain remembers codes if I am ever gone. Might need simpler codes in future.

Captain’s sight restored. When he returns from hunting traitors, will explain new code to him. Much simpler to remember – opposites (each word).
