Volnas

Volnas is a fire giant who lives in a large stone hut in the Magma Tunnels. He is cordial toward smallfolk, and welcomes visitors, with whom he often exchanges precious gems and metals for food. His hut contains chairs and beds sized for medium-sized humanoids, and amiable travelers are permitted to rest there on their journey.

Volnas was ostracized by the other fire giants living in the volcanic core of the Smokewhistle Mountains. They exiled him for his pacificist ways, and would gladly kill him to eliminate the disgrace they perceive him to be. For this reason, he keeps the location of the cave leading from Subterranea to Smokewhistle a secret, lest any careless explorers lead the other giants to him.
