Government
The priesthood run the city and lands from here. They seek the gods wills' and pass proclamations to the people accordingly.
Defences
Stone walls, ocean, hills and the surrounding desert tend to dissuade all who would try to take over the capital. The nearest sources of water are within the walls and there is little drinkable water within miles of the city.
Industry & Trade
There is a large harbour and much trade passes by ocean rather than through the desert. Some is still brought overland but the city relies on fishing, trade and shipbuilding.

Tourism
People sail here to trek the desert to some nearby settlements and meet some locals, to see the sands, the mines and the sunsets. Visitors from other lands are often found in this melting pot of cultures and races.
Architecture
A lot of stone and wood structures make up the majority of the buildings in Ellon. The houses have plenty of doors and large windows to open to catch the breeze. And many have pottery cellars dug into the ground with a chimney like point on top with a hole and wide gaps on one side which allows the breeze to blow through and cool what is inside. Crucial in the heat of the desert. In the cold season, the nights can be chilly with the winds that come off the ocean but the days are still temperate.
Geography
A flat land, cultivated and built up over many many years. Many who fled the Ernesh Conflict ended up here and while building vessels to escape started the shipbuilding trade.
Natural Resources
Fish, wood from the hills, glass from the sands, metals, and stone.
