Jarnin Tong
Jarnin Tong was the Constable of the Eigenvector convoy Rimtreader. As a former Chafooran chieftain, she treated the inhabitants of her mothership as her clan, and thus felt a deeper responsibility for their personal well-being than the average Eigenvector Constable.
Personal Life
Jarnin left her homeworld of Beshten in the year 156,051, at the age of 26. Inspired by stories of ancient Chafooran historical figures, she believed she could give her people and their name something more than the Unison Network could ever offer: the opportunity to live unbeholden to any masters. So she made the decision to gather her clan and leave Network territory, and escape from safety into the wide dangerous galaxy.
But while making preparations for the departure, Jarnin soon uncovered a sabotage plot devised by a handful of her people to ensure the clan did not leave their Network-conjoined station on Beshten; the Tong clan had established a stranglehold on the lightweight ion weapons industry there, and not everyone was willing to let that go at the behest of their chieftain. Jarnin and her right-hand exiled the would-be saboteurs, but the betrayal changed her mind: she could not ask her clan to upend their lives just to support her ambitions.
Still convinced that living under the Network's laws was not the path for her, she acquired a large freighter using funds from her clan's accounts and slipped away to establish her own convoy.
