Session 12: In Search of Answers

General Summary

  • You settle on Halbradius, the Dunkelung homeworld, as a place to start digging deeper into the archaeon and whatever plans Nullspace has for it.
  • After reaching out to Arkesia for some background info on Mercurial Statics, you hone in on the "dark side" of Halbradius--where Network presence is sparse.
  • Landing in a clearing near a swamp, you enter the city of Gentzker under the thick rainforest canopy.
  • Callsign receives a message from Galsik, before chatting with the gardner pruning the central elder tree about the flora on the planet. He directs Callsign to Aufzug, the major research institute of the Dunkelung people.
  • Céad travels to the northern heights of the city, following markings in Outlaw's Code to a spot inhabited by offworlders.
  • Bailey gets an overview of Gentzker with some input from a local, as well as a visual survey of the surroundings: no industrial center here, but across the lake in the neighboring city. Also identifies the Aufzug Institute by its towering steel frame amongs the trees.
  • When you regroup, you visit the offworlders' slums, a region almost outside city limits filled with concrete compounds to shelter non-Dunkelung.
  • Looking at a sign denoting "void space" presence further out, Céad is approached by Constant, a member of the Wolwomei Consulate.
  • Apparently, they have been sent by Krest Winfolg as well, seeking Nullspace operations in the area. They haven't found anything so far, but have only just scouted the area marked by the outlaw's code.
