Benjamin Kowal

Benjamin Michael Kowal (a.k.a. Benny)

Benjamin Kowal, a seasoned cleric and skilled blacksmith, bares the weight of his fifty-five years with the quiet strength of an ancient oak. His graying beard, once dark as night, now whispered tales of battles fought and prayers whispered in the dim light of forgotten temples. The forge’s heat has etched lines into his face, each wrinkle a testament to the countless swords he’d hammered into shape.   But Benjamin was more than just a blacksmith. His hands, calloused and scarred, held the power to mend both steel and spirit. His faith in the divine guided him through the darkest nights, and his hammer sang hymns as it struck the anvil. The villagers of Aldergrove knew him as the man who forged their plows and blessed their newborns, but they were unaware of his secret life—one that intertwined with magic and destiny.   His closest companion is Gabriel Galeseed, a broad warlock with eyes like storm clouds. Gabriel’s powers were as unpredictable as the weather, and he carried the weight of a prophecy that spoke of doom and salvation. The two had met in a crumbling library as young men, dust motes dancing in the shafts of sunlight. Benjamin had been researching ancient texts, and Gabriel had stumbled upon forbidden knowledge—the kind that could unravel the very fabric of reality.   Together, they embarked on a quest that spanned Arda, its lands stretching from the sun-kissed deserts of Wiru to the icy peaks of the Devil's Fingers Mountains. Their goal: to unravel “The Great Threat,” a cryptic prophecy that foretold cataclysmic events. The words were etched into Gabriel’s mind, a haunting refrain that echoed in his dreams.   And so, Benjamin and Gabriel wandered, their footsteps leaving imprints on ancient roads and forgotten tombs. They sought answers in hidden groves, consulted sages in moonlit glades, and faced trials that tested their resolve. Benjamin’s mace, forged under a blood moon, glowed with divine energy, while Gabriel’s staff crackled with eldritch power.   Caddersian Trodaire, known affectionately as “Quarter,” completed their trio. A ranger with eyes sharp as a hawk’s, he could read the whispers of the wind and track a sparrow through a blizzard. His bow was strung with enchanted sinew, and his arrows bore the blessings of forgotten gods. Quarter’s loyalty to Benjamin and Gabriel became unwavering, even when the path grew treacherous.   As the years turned into decades, their bond deepened. They shared laughter around campfires, nursed wounds in damp caves, and argued over cryptic riddles. Benjamin’s faith clashed with Gabriel’s skepticism, yet their differences fueled their determination. They were bound by more than friendship—they were bound by destiny.   And so, beneath star-strewn skies and ancient oaks, they pressed forward. The Great Threat looming, its shadow stretching across kingdoms and realms. Benjamin’s hammer struck sparks against Gabriel’s arcane sigils, and Quarter’s arrows pierced the hearts of trecherous trespassers.

Personal history

Benjamin Kowal, in his youth, was a man of dual passions: the forge and the stars. Born in the quiet hamlet of Ironhold, nestled amidst the rolling hills of Verdant Vale, he inherited his father’s blacksmithing skills and his mother’s reverence for the celestial. His hands, strong and nimble, shaped iron into swords and hammers by day, while his eyes traced constellations across the night sky.   As a boy, Benjamin would sneak away from the anvil, leaving the clang of metal behind, and climb the hill behind his home. There, beneath the ancient oak, he’d lie on dew-kissed grass, staring at the vast expanse above. His heart swelled with wonder—the same wonder that fueled his dreams of adventure beyond the forge.   His father, gruff but kind-hearted, taught him the art of tempering steel. Benjamin’s hands blistered, but he reveled in the transformation—the alchemy that turned raw ore into weapons that could defend or destroy. Yet, when the moon hung low, he’d slip away to the village library, where dusty tomes whispered secrets of forgotten realms and lost magic.   It was during one such moonlit escapade that he stumbled upon a book—an ancient grimoire bound in cracked leather. Its pages smelled of incense and time. The ink danced across parchment, revealing spells and incantations. Benjamin’s fingers traced the symbols, and something stirred within him—a hunger for knowledge beyond the mundane.
