Written Backstory

Ea Graveltongue is the exiled daughter of a dwarven king (Her real name being Ea Morann) of a distant dwarven kingdom known as the Golden Mountain. As the only and beloved daughter of the dwarven royal family, she was given a classical education befitting a dwarven princess, which she whole-heartedly despised. Despite the rancor she had for being treated as a princess, she had a talent for the echoing percussion music of the dwarves. The dwarves of the Golden Mountain had long been locked in combat of the orcs of the region, and the dwarves frequently led armies against them. Wanting to act instead of being worried for her father, the aged dwarven king Easator Morann, would lead her to disguising herself as a soldier in the dwarven army.

It was among the army she learned the percussive ability of shields, and carried her brand of music to the battlefield. However, the campaign itself was disastrous, leading to the death of many dwarves, including the king. Being inexperienced, she was captured by the orcs of the Golden Khanate, only for them to discover her identity. For all the stories she had heard about their savagery, she found the orcs to be largely civil and noble tribesmen. Knowing her value, they attempted to ransom her, and finding the new dwarven king unwilling to ransom a potential political enemy. She lived among the orcs for several years, honing her music and her skills, until the orcs decided to simply allowed her to leave. She returned to the Golden Mountain without home and status, and was branded with the dwarven rune reading "traitor" and "orc sympathizer". She now wears a bearded helmet to disguise her gender and the dwarven brand on her forehead. She will go to great lengths to keep the brand and her gender a secret.
She also has a secret love of cute things, and keeps a diary written in a flowery hand.

Shadows Over Arda

Drake and Shyalla heard rumors of a new cult that was practicing on a nearby mountain that was led by a renegade dragon. Following the rumors of the cult, they joined forces with Ea Graveltongue, a dwarven exile from the Golden Mountain. At the cult's hideout, they found their son rotting in the cult's prison, the next offering to their extraplanar allies. They rescued him, but were soon found out.

As Drake, Ea, and Shyalla fled the mountain prison with their emaciated son, with the renegade dragon's forces on their heels, they ran into the khan's party (along with Rotund), and faced the dragon and his cultists together, defeating them. The khan, impressed with their performance, proffered they join the Grand Moot that was going to take place in a few days in the capital, Thule.

At a small tavern there, the party discussed their future plans and to consider the Khan's offer. Ea was looking to compete in the Grand Moot in the hopes of gaining entrance to Khazad-Mor, a feat that would normally be impossible with her being branded as an exile. Ultimately, both Rotund and Ea competed in the Grand Moot, with Ea winning and being welcomed to join the dwarves of Khazad-Mor.

In the five years that would follow after this campaign, the party would have returned to High Peak, finding that Ra'Kor has overtaken Drake's home with the help of the fetchlings and the Shadow. After a valiant struggle, they realized they would need to rely on outside help - the Torches. As time went on, Rotund would eventually head south to Romanorum to found a monastery in Romanorum to teach the Wandering Fist before eventually rejoining the fight as a Torch himself. Ea, now granted access to Khazad-Mor, became a soldier, but quickly distinguished herself, becoming a powerful general in her own right and becoming known for both her ferocity and compassion. Drake continues the fight against Ra'Kor, helping to direct the efforts of the Torches and the remaining dragons free of Ra'Kor's tyranny. The result has long been a stalemate, with the Torches waiting for the right something, or someone to join the cause.
