Scion Secondary Features

Cultivation and convergence

Secondary categories represent abilities that are composite of multiple skill sets and techniques, and would require cross-discipline experience or training to use. As such, these secondary category abilities require that the scion takes at least one feature (major or minor) in each of its parent categories before they can be accessed by the scion.

Sage - Arcane / Divine


The sage is the combination and the height of cross-magical power, combining arcane secrets and divine mysteries to cast devastating spells upon your foes, summon powerful creatures, or empower their allies.
  Prerequisites: At least 1 feature in both arcane and divine

Sage - Major Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Argent Performance Bardic Performance Gain the benefits of song of silver as per the argent dramaturge. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, you gain a dramaturgical flourish. At 9th level, you gain the righteous chord ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Aspect Eidolon, 10th level Gain the benefits of aspect as per the summoner ability. This ability improves to merge forms at 16th level, and greater aspect at 18th level.
Spell Synthesis Unifying Theory, 10th level Gain the benefits of spell synthesis as per the mystic theurge feature.
Unifying Theory Arcane or divine spellcasting Gain the benefits of scion quarter-casting of the paladin or ranger spell list (if you cast arcane spells) or the bloodrager spell list (if you cast divine spells). You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Sage - Minor Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Combined Spells Unifying Theory Gain the benefits of the combined spells as per the mystic theurge feature.
Magical Conversion You may change the damage type(s) of any spell you cast, excluding positive and negative energy.
Spontaneous Your spells can now be cast spontaneously, and no longer require preparation before casting (meditating or studying is still required to replenish spell slots).
Summon Monster Gain the benefits of the summon monster ability as per the summoner. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Summoner Bonds Eidolon Gain bond sense as per the summoner ability. At 4th level you gain shield ally, at 5th level you gain master''s call, at 8th level transposition, greater shield ally at 12th level, and life bond at 14th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Champion - Arcane / Martial


The champion is the scion's combination of the arcane arts met with martial discipline. Their training makes some scions into powerful combatants that are able to fight in the thick of melee to the furthest expanses with their arrows and spells. Other scions will use their magic to enhance or channel their allies' strengths.
  Prerequisites: At least 1 feature in both arcane and martial

Champion - Major Features


 

Name Prerequisites Description
Enhance Arrow (Major) Gain the ability to enhance arrows as per the arcane archer ability. You gain the ability to imbue arrows instead at 4th level, and hail of arrows at 12th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Magus Arcana (Major) Beginning at 3rd level, you gain magus arcana as per the magus ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level. If you don’t have the Arcane Pool feature, you gain an arcane pool (as per the magus class feature) with 3 points, but they may only be used for activating the abilities of Magus Arcana.
Inspiring Command Bardic Performance Gain the inspiring command ability as per the battle herald. You use your scion level in place of the class level. This ability improves to persistent command at 8th level, and complex commands at 10th level.
Spell Combat Gain the spell combat ability as per the magus ability. At 2nd level, you gain the spellstrike ability. This ability improves to improved spell combat at 8th level, and greater spell combat at 14th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Spell Critical 10th level Gain the spell critical ability as per the eldritch knight ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Champion - Minor Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Arcane Pool Gain the ability to use an arcane pool as per the magus ability. At 4th level, you gain the spell recall ability. This improves to improved spell recall at 11th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level. If you have Magus Arcana (Major) or (Minor), you add the points gained by those features to your arcane pool.
Counterstrike 15th level Gain the counterstrike ability as per the magus.
Enhance Arrow (Minor) 5th level Gain the ability to enhance arrows as per the arcane archer ability, using your scion level - 4. At 10th level, you gain the imbue arrow feature. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Fighter Training Use your scion level in place of fighter level for the purpose of qualifying for feats. Gain a bonus combat feat.
Magus Arcana (Minor) 5th level Gain a magus arcana. You gain an additional magus arcana at 9th level and every four levels thereafter. You use your scion level in place of the class level. If you don’t have the Arcane Pool feature, you gain an arcane pool (as per the magus class feature) with 2 points, but they may only be used for activating the abilities of Magus Arcana.
Mystic Rage Barbarian Rage, 5th level Gain the blood sanctuary and blood casting abilities as per the bloodrager. These abilities function with Barbarian Rage instead of bloodrage.

Trickster - Arcane / Subtlety


The trickster is the scion's ultimate combination of skill and versatility. Masters of the unpredictable, yet always practical, they combine arcane magic with their knowledge of themselves and the wider world. Armed with this knowledge, they can apply themselves in new and innovative ways, with cutting-edge alchemy or finely-honed magics.
  Prerequisites: At least 1 feature in both arcane and subtlety

Trickster - Major Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Alchemical Discovery (Major) Gain an alchemist discovery as per the alchemist ability. You gain another at 4th level and every even level after. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Cyphermage Scribe Scroll Gain cypher magic as a bonus feat. At 4th level and every 4 levels after, you gain a cypher lore as per the cyphermage. You gain the cypherlord ability at 18th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Mutagen (Major) Gain the ability to use mutagens as per the alchemist ability. This ability improves to persistent mutagen at 14th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Impromptu Sneak Attack Sneak Attack, 10th level Gain the impromptu sneak attack as per the arcane trickster ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Trickster - Minor Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Alchemical Discovery (Minor) 5th level Gain some alchemist discoveries as per the alchemist ability. You gain a discovery upon selecting the ability, and another discovery every four levels thereafter. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Mutagen Gain the mutagen as per the alchemist ability. You use your scion level -4 as your alchemist level.
Poison Resistance 5th level Gain the poison resistance ability as per the alchemist. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Ranged Legerdemain Gain the ranged legerdemain as per the arcane trickster ability.
Swift Alchemy Brew Potion or Poison Use, 5th level Gain the swift alchemy ability as per the alchemist. This ability improves to instant alchemy at 18th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Tricky Spells 5th level Gain tricky spells as per the arcane trickster ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Warden - Divine / Martial


Forged of discipline and conviction, the warden is the path chosen by scions who combine their devotion to their martial skill. Natural warleaders and defenders, the warden can combine powerful divine enhancements upon themselves and their allies. So equipped with this divine favor, their mighty strength-at-arms can deliver them to victory.
  Prerequisites: At least 1 feature in both divine and martial

Warden - Major Features


 
Name Prerequisites Description
Aura (Major) Gain aura of courage as per the paladin ability. At 8th level you gain aura of resolve. At 14th level you gain aura of faith. At 17th level you gain aura of righteousness. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Ragecaster Gain raging healer as per the rage prophet ability. At 4th level you gain the ragecaster ability. At 6th level you gain enduring rage. At 8th level, you gain raging spellstrength. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Silverclaw Gain the ability to cast speak with animals 3/day. At 4th level, you gain the silverclaw ability as per the nature warden ability. At 8th level, you gain the ironpaw ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Smite Evil (Major) Gain the ability to smite evil as per the paladin. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Stigmata 10th level Gain the ability to use stigmata as per the holy vindicator ability. At 5th level you gain channel smite as a bonus feat and the bloodfire ability. At 9th level, you gain the bloodrain ability.

Warden - Minor Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Aura (Minor) 5th level Gain aura of courage as per the paladin ability. At 10th level you gain aura of resolve. At 16th level you gain aura of faith. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Divine Grace Gain divine grace as per the paladin ability. At 5th level you gain the divine health class feature.
Faith Healing Gain the faith healing ability as per the holy vindicator ability. At 15th level, you gain the healer's blessing domain ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Fighter Training Use your level scion level in place of fighter level for the purpose of qualifying for feats. Gain a bonus combat feat.
Smite Evil (Minor) 5th level You gain the ability to smite evil once a day as per the paladin ability. This increases to an additional use at 10th level and every 5 levels thereafter.
Vindicator's Shield Channel Energy Gain the vindicator shield power as per the holy vindicator ability. You gain an extra use of channel energy at 5th and 10th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Zealot - Divine / Subtlety


More than any, the scion is born of contradiction, and few better represent that this contradiction than those who choose the path of the zealot. Seeking the recognition of their benefactor, they stalk in the shadows to escape the gaze of all others. Zealots combine divine might with subtle skill to uncover lore or deliver divine retribution upon the enemies of their benefactor.
  Prerequisites: At least 1 feature in both divine and subtlety

Zealot - Major Features


Name Prerequisite Description
Bane Gain the ability to use bane as per the inquisitor ability. This ability improves to greater bane at 12th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Loremaster Secrets (Major) Gain a loremaster's secret as per the loremaster ability. You gain an additional secret at 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter. You also learn a new language at 4th and 8th level as per the loremaster ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Shadows (Major) 10th level You can summon a shadow as per the shadowdancer ability. At 4th level they gain shadow call and shadow jump. At 8th level they gain shadow power. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Solo Tactics (Major) Gain the ability to use solo tactics as per the inquisitor ability. You gain a teamwork feat upon selecting this ability. At 6th level, and every 3 levels thereafter you gain an additional teamwork feat. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Zealot - Minor Features


Name Prerequisite Description
Hide In Plain Sight 5th level Gain the ability to hide in plain sight as per the shadowdancer ability.
Lore Gain lore as per the loremaster ability. At 6th level, you gain the greater lore ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Loremaster Secrets (Minor) Gain a loremaster's secret as per the loremaster ability. You gain an additional secret at 6th level and every 6 levels thereafter. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Mystic Harmony Favored Terrain Gain mystic harmony as per the nature warden ability. You may select an additional favored terrain upon selecting this ability.
Second Chances 5th level Gain darkvision as per the shadowdancer ability. Gain the defensive roll as per the rogue talent ability. You gain the slippery mind ability as per the rogue talent at 10th level.
Shadows (Minor) 5th level Gain the ability to use shadow call and shadow jump as per the shadowdancer ability. At 10th level, you can use shadow power 1/day as per the shadowdancer ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Solo Tactics (Minor) Gain the ability to use solo tactics as per the inquisitor. You gain a teamwork feat upon selecting this ability, and another teamwork feat at 9th level and again at 15th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Agent - Martial / Subtlety


Pushing themselves to the limit of physical impossibility, the agent is the scion's combination of martial prowess met with uncanny subtlety. Impossibly quick and terrifyingly strong, they can perform feats of strength and dexterity that few could match. This makes them ideal as martial artists, swordsmasters, or assassins who can make use of their finely-honed bodies and powerful skill-set.
  Prerequisites: At least 1 feature in both martial and subtlety

Agent - Major Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Death Attack 10th level Gain the death attack as per the assassin ability. You gain the true death ability at 12th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Ki Pool (Major) Gain a ki pool as per the monk ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level. You gain wholeness of body at 5th level and empty body at 19th level.
Monastic Discipline 10th level Gain purity of body as per the monk ability. At 11th level, you gain diamond body, diamond soul at 13th level, and timeless body and tongue of sun and moon at 17th level. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Slayer Talents (Major) Gain slayer talents as per the slayer ability. You gain a slayer talent upon selecting this ability. You gain another at 4th level and every even level after. You use your scion level in place of the class level.

Agent - Minor Features


Name Prerequisites Description
Charmed Life Gain the charmed life ability as per the swashbuckler. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Fighter Training Use your level scion level in place of fighter level for the purpose of qualifying for feats. Gain a bonus combat feat.
Hide in Plain Sight 5th level Gain the ability to hide in plain sight as per the shadowdancer ability.
Improved Death Attack Death Attack, 15th level You gain the hidden weapons and quiet death as per the assassin. At 18th level you gain the swift death ability.
Ki Pool (Minor) 5th level Gain a ki pool as per the monk ability, using your scion level -4. You gain wholeness of body as per the monk ability at 10th level.
Slayer Talent (Minor) Gain some slayer talents as per the slayer ability. You gain a slayer talent upon selecting this ability, then another every 4 levels after. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Track Gain the track ability as per the slayer. At 11th level, this skill improves to swift tracker. At 14th level, you gain slayer's advance as per the slayer ability. You use your scion level in place of the class level.
Quarry Track, 15th level Gain the quarry ability as per the slayer. This ability improves to improved quarry at 19th level.
