Mitraia Forest

Defining the northwestern-most part of the Ikhan Prefecture in Zalja, the Mitraia Forest is considered one of the most beautiful places on the earth. Home to enormous trees called bilu that tower as tall as mountains, the rich soil of the forest floor supports vibrant and unique floral life, as well as smaller but no less beautiful trees called sanu. Both breeds of tree are silvery, almost translucent, with crystal-like growths on them and leaves of blue, red, violet, and gold.   Poaching of any kind in the Mitraia is severely prohibited, but this has not prevented the occasional brigand from digging in search of visrite, or chipping away parts of the trees in hope of deriving some magic from them. To date, no such wisdom has been gained from such evil practice.   The Mitraia was supposedly home to a pair of mythical peoples called the Qazmai and the Dajan. The Qazmai are said to have planted the trees and made them grow tall, and the Dajan are credited with granting them their crystalline beauty. Both peoples were said to have vanished into the sunrise one day, leaving the forest for those who came after them.
