Canmar Plateau

The Canmar Plateau is a large region located in northwestern Balukthur. The entirety of the plateau experiences a highly arid climate, in part due to the elevation as well as the Morduinian Mountains on its western coast. As such, the plateau is occupied by the Canmar Desert and borders the aforementioned Morduinian Mountains.

Geography

The plateau was formed through the rising of a segment of the seafloor through tectonic activity. This segment was made up of mostly silts, sediments, and muds. As such, before it had risen to the level of a plateau, it was a swampy wetland. These factors have created a desert made mostly of mudstone and sandstone, with incredibly large amounts of cavern systems, and large amounts of both coal and clay.
