Maenor
Maenor is a nation ruled by the original dragonborn clans. These are the Kelbarum, Milalkek, Daaposhtenu, Krivdall, and Bahadur. While these are not the only clans, they are the ones that are currently in power.
Demography and Population
The vast majority of the Maenorian population is dragonborn, with considerable minorities of dwarves, gnomes, and one of the smallest minorities is human.
Territories
The territory of Maenor is essentially the entirety of the Canmar Desert.
Military
The Maenorian Military is regarded as the best in all of Balukthur. This is largely due to the use of highly defensible above-ground fortresses that are interconnected through subterranean waterways. This makes sieges against Maenorian military installations practically impossible since the fortress can be constantly supplied and reinforced from below. Should an enemy somehow take the fortress, there is a multitude of procedures that can be taken in order to seal it from the underground rivers and roads.
Maenor is also famous for its use of tamed wyverns as both independent air units, mounts, and for transportation of supplies.
In most cases, a primarily subterranean society engenders defensive flaws, primarily in the requirements for water, waste disposal, and smoke disposal. The first is solved by the natural subterranean rivers, the second is solved by impressively complex plumbing systems, and the third, which is arguably the greatest weakness, is solved by the use of smokestone. The smokestone generally lies in an accessible compartment inside of a partial chimney or smokestack, where it quickly absorbs the smoke produced by whatever fire is below it. They can absorb a considerable amount of smoke, and can also be discharged of their smoke through the process of soaking it in water for several hours.
Technological Level
Maenor is of an average level of advancement in regard to their technological and scientific prowess. However, there are specific fields in which they excel such as in military innovation, transportation development, and maritime improvements.
Religion
Religion within Maenor is unique in that it is relatively uncommon. Most Maenorians, especially the Dragonborn native to the nation, refuse to worship any gods since they see these so-called "gods" as imperfect beings with much power. This stems from the history of the Dragonborn in which they were created and enslaved by the dragons. Worship is, however, generally tolerated within the nation. There is a single religion that is highly discouraged, which is the worship of the Akkantei, or the draconic pantheon for obvious reasons.
Agriculture & Industry
Maenor has a well-mixed economy, having notable agricultural and industrial sectors. The region boasts an impressive number of exotic fruits and vegetables such as laris fruit, clapaya, pulasan, and cholkress. These fruits and vegetables are native to the area and are very popular for their versatile use in brewing, cooking, and jellying.
In general industry, Maenor is a major producer of raw materials such as Maenorian clay, smokestone, and Damascus steel. The nation also works any of these materials, such as creating a variety of clay products and worked damascus steel weapons.
Trade & Transport
Transport in Maenor is generally conducted through the use of ships on the underground waterways. While some of these rivers have usable currents, many of the smaller rivers have either no current or a negligible current. In these cases, the ships are either rowed or pulled by various beasts of burden walking along pathways next to these rivers.
The trade within Maenor is also usually conducted through the use of ships. This does not mean that roads are not used, for the waterways can only hold so many vehicles. As such, carts and wagons are not uncommon. Maenor's main trade partners are Morduin, Rokalotse, Vareille, and the Kothic League.
