The Adventurer's Guild
Follow in the footsteps of Richard the Steelshod
The Adventurer's Guild is one of the Two organizations legally permitted to perform adventuring work in The Sunhold Compact Confederacy.
Structure
The Adventurer's Guild operates through a series of chapters throughout the The Sunhold Compact Confederacy. They are able to apply for Adventuring licenses with the nearest city-state for any work they might undertake. Each chapter is its own organization. They are affiliated with but not under the direct control of the overall Adventurer's Guild. As such, practices vary between chapters.
Public Agenda
The Adventurers Guild is Guided by several principles. First is that the good of their community comes before their personal glory. They give 5% of all commissions to charity. Second is that there is honor in fighting evil and protecting the innocent. They do not take politically motivated jobs, they hunt monsters, protect their locales, and seek out lost treasures. Finally, they believe that the highest honor they can achieve is to be remembered across history for their deeds. While they are paid well for their dangerous work, most are not in it for the money, but rather for the glory.
History
The Adventurer's Guild, Was founded by @Richard the Steelhod in San'Arad roughly 130 years ago. Their first Adventure was to go on an expedition to discover if the fabled @Elves truly existed to the east. On this expedition, After some difficult weeks, @Garrick the Fighter mutinied and returned with most of the men to San'Arad declaring the Adventure a failure and taking over the Guild himself. Meanwhile Richard was found starving with his last remaining men by elven scouts. Richard and his men were taken in and nursed back to health in the elven capital of Umemyar. Richard eventually returned to San'Arad with proof of his success, and took the Guild back from Garrick who would go on to found the @Brotherhood of Slayers.
For the smallfolk, for the guild, for glory!
