Tsedrin

The Tsedrins (Ṭiidriɳ) are descendants of the ur-Havlean race inhabiting the southeastern portion of Arkodia. Their ancestors were the inhabitants of the Paa'iya state, which is called Pãŋio in Old Havlic.

They are very closely related to the nomadic Erlasti people, in fact the Tsedrins and Erlasti are often collectively referred to as Amiḥawʈ̂iqiɳay (pronounced /a.miˈħɑu̯.ʈʼɪ.kʼɪˌɳæi̯/) in the Tsedric tongue. This name is a reference to Ḥawʈ̂iqa, the hero who led her people in the so-called Havlian Split which was a schism that occurred many millennia prior to the formation of the Empire. The name "Tsedrin" is derived from the Old Havlic word tseidzrénos meaning "deserter" or "forsaken".

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Tsedrins speak Younger Tsedric , a dialect continuum which is part of the Erlasto-Tsedric language family. They are notable for their extensive class system and "rationality hierarchy".

Ideals

Gender Ideals

Tsedrins traditionally have a matriarchal society. Women have an inherently higher standing in society to men, even the son of a noblewoman is considered inherently less important than a peasant girl. Men are seen as expendable, their only purpose is to breed, do manual labour, and fight.
