Yame
A mythical creature revered by the faithful to Icae, the Yame are beings that feast on magic, becoming more and more powerful as they grow, absorbing the magic they consume and growing in potential with every passing day. Said to have been created by Icae herself to personally clean up the Tide for her, these creatures are considered sacred and celestial by many.
During the the early autumn, the Yame find themselves flocking to areas of wild magic where they will then nest. They lay their eggs, and hide them within the dormant magical lands. Yame eggs react to wild magic, and under intense conditions can have themselves hidden behind a magical mask for years at a time. After the four or so years it takes for the eggs to hatch, the mother will return, and care for them as they grow.
While the Yame start out small, no more than a foot or two tall, they grow to be up to forty feet long. With two nubs that slowly grow out into long tails, and four legs, the front two eventually splitting into four, and blue horns which vary in size depending on the Yame's power, the creatures are very visually distinguishable even from a distance. Their fur begins yellow, and grows more orange as the years go on, taking on blue tinges as they enter their more elderly years.
