Mig Travers

Migamanthius Travers (a.k.a. Mig)

A gnome Artificer that works in the Travelers & Tinkerers shop within Verde. Excitable, sassy, and intelligent, he spends most of his days building things that help people live better lives.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Mig wears thick robes that conceal his physical state. He is a durable little gnome, but his body is thin and sickly. A stocky exosuit assists with major movements around town like a body brace. This, too, is held beneath his robes.

Mig's signature goggles always rest atop of his head.

He has an awkward gait when walking about, as if he was walking in a suit of stiff armor.

Mig is able to artifice objects and to brew alchemical potions. All things, however, have a cost.

Personal history

Mig was born in Nexus and left to learn magic from the house of Hearth within Crystallis Academy. He returned to Nexus to finish his studies with earth magic. A fondness for artificing, he created dozens of tools that made it so people on Arhor'ha wouldn't go hungry. This branched out to protection artificing for soldiers and adventurers to protect against the many wilderness threats.

When Nexus fell, Mig relocated to Verde and took up an open job at the Travelers & Tinkerers. It is there he met an adventuring party and traveled Arhor'ha. When the party ended in tragedy, he returned to the shop a much older man and resigned to quietly live out the rest of his life creating things for others.

Education

Mig attended the Crystallis Academy as a student of Hearth.

Employment

Mig works at the Tinkerers and Travelers magic shop in Verde.
Prior to this he was an agricultural and militia artificer for Nexus.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Although well respected amongst his peers, he rarely took any direct credit for his works. Basic enchanted weapons to fight scarecrows, goggles of night vision, and potions of growth all have been created under his dutiful care.

Failures & Embarrassments

Mig failed to protect Nexus when it was occupied and saw many of his creations turned against their intended purpose. Blades meant to stop the hide of a field scarecrow were used to kill farmers. He accepted that he could not stop an army and fled to Verde to help in a smaller capacity.

The opportunity to help in a smaller capacity came up as he joined an adventuring group. This ended in failure as well and he returned to a simple life of a crafter.

Mental Trauma

Although having suffered a lot of blows to his ego, Mig is free of mental trauma. He harbors a great sadness that he refuses to let be a burden to others.

A skilled artificer with a penchant for reading, tinkering with clockwork and machinations, and a curious view of the divine.

Mig is a person who believes in helping others, but that others need to be capable of helping themselves. By creating things, they can help themselves more than they were before.

Mig loves the pursuit of knowledge in all of its forms. Protecting the truth is something he holds dear to his heart. The opposite of this, blind brutality, is something he abhors and only tolerates when there is no other option than to do so.
