House Farlier

House Farlier is a noble family in the Duchy de Venture ranking among the most powerful families throughout the dutchy. Known for its pure and ancient bloodline members of house farlier exude a noble and arrogant aura fit for royalty.

History

The exact era of the families foundations not commonly know but historians place it in the few centuries after the fall of The Final Empire. Lord Farlier descended from an elven linage and married a human woman from the southern part of Arkion. Her name is lost in history but it is said that she was but a lady in waiting to the then queen of the Orishi Kingdom. House Farlier has since then produced remarkable new research in varying fields of study especially when it comes to medicine and anatomy none are their equal. Many famous alchemists, doctors and poison masters hail from the Farlier family.

Throughout the following millennia house Farlier grew steadily but rather peacefully, only a few instances of conflict are recorded in history. Around 433 ac. they allied themselves with House Venture and grew to become one of their most trusted allies and eventually helped them found the Duchy de Venture in the south of Arkion.

The Fall of House Farlier

Steady and Proud would be the most accurate description of House Farlier in the last century however around 8 years ago disaster struck and now the House has fallen. In the year 983 ac. the young master of House Farlier, Leylin Farlier was born, from a young age he showed much promise he was intelligent, thoughtfully ,sociable and had many more talents including magic. Soon he garnered a lot of attention from other noble houses and became the center of attention in this generation of young lords. Galaeron Farlier the current family head put a lot of faith into his son to lead the family into another glorious age. 14 years later Charlotte Farlier was born a sweet kind soul adored by all in and around the family. The details of what happened next are very very blurry but many rumors sur faced that Charlotte was a special child and might even outshine the young master Leylin himself. As Charlotte turned 6 the family abruptly receded from all public affairs and retreated into their keep not sending out word why, many assumed that something might have happend to the young lady but the family denied those rumors. If one already has no luck then there's bound to be bad luck on top of that, and just like that another disaster struck the family. They fell victim to an attack of the Nightmare of Dread an evil organisation terrorizing the noble houses of Venture for decades. It was 3 days after the attack that Kamuran Farlier head knight of house Venture arrived at the keep of his birth in search for answers, and found only death and destruction. The casualties are in the thousands, the entire county was ravaged the estate, barely recognisable as such, obliterated by spells and the heat of battle. Even now a good 8 years later the stench of blood is faintly deiscernable when one walks across the cobblestone in the gardens of keep Farlier. Apparently most of the important family members are still alive and managed to protect their life at the cost of their power but they rarely show themselves in public, and ever since that fatefull day both heirs to the farlier name have vanished and are thought to be dead.
